Using the LIST command tells me that the object is not watertight - oh joy. Is there a way for AutoCAD to be able to tell me where the object is not watertight, almost like the opposite of the INTERFERE command with 3D solids Or alternatively, is there a better way for me to somehow turn this piece of junk into a 3D Solid 3 comments share save hide report 84 Upvoted This thread is archived New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast Sort by best level 1 1 point 3 years ago Ugh, this one sounds fun. Im not aware of anything thats similar to, say, the Close operation for polylines that will do a simple cleanup. You could always add in more solids or meshes or surfaces, then try again, to see where its leaking (of conversion to solid works, your new objects must cover the gaps), but that could still be a bit of work, and if there are a fair number of gaps in multiple locations Honestly, I would maybe try playing around with visual styles and see if any of them give a better look at things, but Ive never had deal deal with such a complicated mesh, so thats all I have.:( level 2 Original Poster 1 point 3 years ago Yep, thats been my approach thus far - keep switching visual styles and pan around looking for little holes. I was just hoping someone knew of a better tool that would automatically flag errors or something like that, but I guess not. Thanks anyway. This function can be applied to individual or multi-selected mesh features or mesh feature folders. The graphical mesh data is converted into B-Rep Model data that can be used similar to imported solids and surfaces. Luckily, I stumbled uppon this saving grace and I am pleased to say that it works. It only converted my.stl files so long as inventor was set to use inches in and the ANSI standard. But the moment i switched over to using mm in the ISO standard, the.stl convertion was unable to produce a solid body output. This review should probably be under a bug reporting site but I cant find that so I hope the Autodesk team finds this here. Would be helpful if this information will be implemented in the description. But now in 2017 the ability to multi-select meshes is not available. I can only select 1 mesh at a time, process, then select again etc. Convert Mesh To Solid Autocad Windows 10 And NewestInventor 2017 with Windows 10 and newest MeshEnabler version. Restarted application, stl loads, but no conversion to solid. If you tick Load Automatically (bottom right hand corner) it should activate the add on every time you start inventor.
